Yo Yo!
Just over a week ago an early morning phone call had me out of bed and frantically scrambling camera gear together. Leith Holtzman from Home Grown Maniacs had a chopper lined up for a shoot and we rolled down to the coast for a surf check.
With a small window of time and the crew scoping the waves up and down the coast, a call was quickly made to hit a nearby beachie. Full credit to Holtzy for co-ordinating the whole shebang.
The jet-skis whipped around the point and were met with the awesome thud-thud-thud of the chopper blades resonating through the sky. A couple of dumbfounded bushwalkers stared slack-jawed at the action on this normally quiet stretch of coast.
Jack Robinson, Creed McTaggart, Dino Adrian, Tom Innes, Dan Corbett and Jethro Hedstrom whipped themselves into the crystal clear waves while the helicopter hovered perilously close overhead. Pilot David Adamson showed why he’s the best in the business with some mad flying skills.
90 minutes later the show was over. The chopper drifted south, the skis headed north and calm returned.
Leith’s put together a sick little clip of the action - check it out.
