Danielle + Henry | Lovefest

Danielle + Henry’s festival wedding at Margaret River Retreat in Witchcliffe.

It was loose, it was mad, it was an all time party and all I can say is I wanna photograph more crazy festival weddings like this!

Danielle + Henry had a bold vision for their day, and if I’m being completely honest I had no idea how they would bring all of their wild ideas to life. Their wedding planner, Kim from The Wedding Concept, was incredible pulling all of this together.

Guests arrived through a metallic streamers, and were greeted with a giant tipi, dance floor, live music and drinks, set up in a courtyard in the middle of the cottages.

The Monty Cotton band kicked off a live set, and Juniper Events were mixing Whiskey Sours and Limoncello Spritzes. Oh, and there was a glitter van painting everyone’s faces - participation was compulsory.

Everyone hung out together for an hour or so, before wandering over to the ceremony under a eucalyptus tree in a paddock. I absolutely love it when couples hang out and party with the friends and family before their ceremony. It just flows so well.

Danielle rocked three different outfits, because why not?

She shimmered in a blue sequinned dress as everyone arrived, changed in a white dress for the ceremony and finished the night in a rainbow sequinned jumpsuit with matching jacket and slides.

Not to be outdone, Henry ran with a couple of outfit changes too. His bolo tie and mad oversized boutonniere from Deep Blooms matched the glitter muttonchops he decided to have painted onto his faced at the last minute. It was sensational to see how relaxed everyone was.

Henry danced down the aisle with his brother and dad. Their friend and celebrant, James McHale, led everyone through a rollicking and heartfelt ceremony. Dressed like a modern day wizard - complete with gold banksia topped staff, bracelets and headband - he announced their marriage by blowing through a sheep’s horn.

An industrial sized bubble machine pumped bubbles nonstop all night, giant lights were suspended in the trees, there was a self-serve ice cream cart for dessert, African dance routines… there was so bloody much going on, yet this was the most relaxed I’ve ever felt at a wedding.

I’m a bit of a weirdo and I love these tripped out celebrations!
